Cookie policy
Last updated August 30, 2026
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. This site uses very few, and none of the optional ones load until you press Accept on the banner.
Strictly necessary
| Name | What it does | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| ymsd-consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies, so we stop asking. Stored in local storage, not sent to any server. | Until you clear your browser data |
This one has no opt-out, because the alternative is showing you the banner on every page forever.
Analytics — optional
| Name | Set by | What it does | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
| _ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current session | 2 years |
Advertising — optional
Google AdSense and its partners may set identifiers such as __gads, __gpi, IDE and test_cookie to choose ads, cap how often you see the same one, and measure results. Lifetimes vary from a few minutes to around two years. The current list Google maintains is in Google's advertising cookies documentation.
Changing your mind
Use to reopen the banner and choose again, or to switch everything optional off. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the jokes work fine either way.
